Question:
"Hi, Can you tell me if bloodstone is ok to have near a window that gets a couple hours of mid-morning sun? And can I put Quartz with it from time to time? I've read no sun with anything with quartz with fire. But then also read only if in strong afternoon sun for day or so?"
Answer:
Hi there T,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
The sun is known to fade certain stones and even though Bloodstone should be okay, it may begin to fade after a really long period of time. I have a piece of Jasper that is on my windowsill and it's only now beginning to fade and I think it shows more easily because it's a natural chunk so the red isn't as vibrant as it once was.
The reason why folks recommend that Quartz doesn't get direct sunlight is because it can start a fire so it's not one I recommend to be in sunlight, especially directly. Indirect light could be fine.
