Question:

"I recently got crystals and I meditated with it last night. I woke up and it has black spots in them. Is that bad energy it's absorbing?"

Answer:

Hi there E,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

You just got the crystals so it's very possible that the black spots were already part of their make up and you didn't notice it at first; however, crystals change from time to time. It is difficult to say exactly why our crystals change. It could be due to location, being exposed to heat/cold or the sun. It can even be that the crystals are changing WITH us as we change. This can be seen if you frequently work with the crystal and exchange energy with it. Just as we exchange energy daily with other people and our environment, we do so with our crystals too.

Here's a post in our Healing Crystals archive that addresses this topic: A Phantom appeared in my Lemurian
I love the explanation stating, "People have reported that they have witnessed their crystals changing in appearance, but it is quite unusual. I feel that this is because the crystal is exposing another side of itself to you to further your healing experience."

If you wanted to go a little deeper, I would recommend meditating with the crystal to see if there is anything the crystal would like to share with you regarding its changes.

Remember to cleanse your crystal!

I hope this helps!!
