It may be a coincidence but tektites tend to carry a very strong vibration so here is my suggestion:
Thoroughly cleanse the tektite. If you don't know how to energetically cleanse stones, you can read more about it here. If after the cleanse, your family still feels energetically sick (light headed, spacey) then store it in a velveteen bag or any material of your choice and pack it away for some time until you feel called to do in-depth work with it.
If any physical symptoms continue then I'd recommend that your family visit their local physician to make sure that everything is fine with them physically.
