Well, Selenite Satin Spar does have a glow to it, so perhaps it was just offering you a crystal wink ;)
It's also possible that you wouldn't have seen it again because you kept walking past to see it. When we push and expect, we don't receive.
It's hard to say why these things happen and why we notice them because I am not the crystal or you, BUT I can recommend sitting with your stone and candidly asking it if it has anything to share with you about the encounter. I've been in this game long enough to know that when you ask and take the time to really listen, the crystal will most of the time share some beautiful guidance with you.
