What is the difference between Ruby and Star Ruby? Are their properties the same? Thank you.
Hi J,
I apologize for the delay in responding to your question, we've been experiencing some technical issues.
Star Ruby is an uncommon type of Ruby that exhibits asterism, which is a star-like pattern. This pattern is made of rutile needles within the Ruby itself. The term "Star Sapphire" is a bit more familiar to most people than "Star Ruby" but they are actually varieties of the same crystal. Sapphire is a form of Corundum that comes in many colors, depending upon the metals that it contains. Red Corundum is referred to as Ruby whereas Blue Corundum is referred to as Sapphire. In addition to the properties of Ruby, Star Ruby is said to carry the energy of the Angels of Faith, Hope, and Destiny.
