What is the difference between crystals and tumbled stones? Are they both same? Can I use tumbled stones in the same way as I use crystals?
Dear S,
Thank you for contacting Healing Crystals with your question about tumbled stones. Tumbling is just a type of finish for the crystal that smooths out and shines up the raw stone. It is done by putting the pieces in a barrel and tumbling them for days, or even weeks with varying types of gritty materials. What makes a crystal a crystal is the crystalline formation of the mineral itself as it changes from a liquid to a solid. So there can be tumbled crystals. The basic essence of the crystal's energy is unchanged by tumbling, but energy-sensitive people would say it has a smoother vibration than a raw crystal's energy.
I hope this information has been helpful to you. And of course, if you have any further questions regarding crystals or crystal healing, please feel free to contact us again.
Crystal Blessings!
