Yes you can definitely store your crystals and stones in an abalone shell! They go wonderfully together! There are no real rules.
It is totally fine to keep them all together even with their different energies.
If when you're near the shell and stones, and you notice that you are continually feeling strange, off or anything out of the regular, then I'd suggest going in with a cleanse but other than that, you are good to go to keep them together :D
