Hello! How do I use Obsidian for divination?

Thanks for sending us your question. Obsidian is a glassy, volcanic rock. For a long time, people have used Black Obsidian for scrying, discerning images in the face of the object. To scry or use this crystal for divination, choose a piece that has been polished and has a shiny, reflective surface, such as a sphere, polished slab or Black Obsidian mirror. Optimally, find a quiet space and dim the lights in the room or turn them off and light a candle. Relax and gaze at the surface of the Black Obsidian until images appear in the reflective surface. This may take some practice to work well for you. It also can help to hold a piece of Clear Quartz to assist you in interpreting any images that you see.
