" It is a stone of dreams, astral travel, and excursions outside of one's body. .....absolutely no jewelry made with this stone should be worn except to bed. It is possible to overdose with herkimer tincture. It goes on to say that smokey quartz is the antidote.
In my personal experience, I was similar to you in that I was trying to create ring. I wrapped and wrapped, but every time something would happen. After I got the book it made sense. I only sleep with my herkimer or use it to journey in meditations.
