  Blessings and Peace Lourdes,

It is so interesting that this email should be received at this time. My youngest granddaughter is 7. Just Friday morning while she, her older sister (11) and I were sitting at the breakfast table, the youngest said: I just saw a man come from over there (the sink area) and walk to the toaster oven." I had the presence of mind to calmly ask her what he looked like. She told me he was wearing jeans and a blue shirt. His hair was short and combed back. He was a young Black man, she said. She said she must have been hallucinating (her word, she's VERY intelligent).

I told her it was nothing to worry about. I told her that it was a gift to be able to see people from another dimension. This was not the first time she'd seen a spirit. When she was about four and her sister 8, they both saw the same spirit. It was morning and the youngest awoke first. She said she saw a young boy playing with her sister's feet (they had bunk beds). She told the spirit, "Leave my sister alone! That's my sister!" The spirit left, but not before the older girl woke up and saw the spirit also. I questioned both girls separately. They both told the same story.

I do sage/smudge. I try to do so regularly. I find that when I don't I feel lethargic and a little depressed. When I smudge that feeling is lifted. I haven't slept in my bedroom for a year because 1) I shared it with a man with whom I ended a relationship. 2) I get very vivid dreams in the room. The good ones are good and the bad ones are awful. 3. I once awoke and saw my best friend who'd died of cancer hovering in a corner just looking at me. She was wearing a blue gown. I screamed so much I was horase. If she came again I would not be afraid since I am more "open" (okay, I'd be a little nervous). In fact, I would want to speak with her because I had broken off our friendship after discovering something that occured when we were teens. I feel so guilty about not being there for her. Man! I digress.

I don't want my granddaughters to be afraid to come and visit me. I will take your advice and get the suggested stones. I had purchased protective bracelets for them which they both lost. They have pierced ears. Perhaps earrings would work better. They know that Nana has altars in her house and that she has food on her altars for the ancestors. However, I have to be very careful about how I explain things to them because their other grandmother is not as open, and they frequently quote her to me and quote me to her.

I've gone one enough. Thanks for listening
