Crystals are no different than herbs/ plants God has given us for healing. As long as we are acknowledging and thanking God for all the healing, since it all comes from God, using these are not a sin. Translations of the Bible sometimes change the meaning, and the NIV is one of the worst for doing this. KJV I think is best as King James' intention was to translate as close to original meaning as possible. Anyways, when we know God, the truth speaks to us regardless. Obviously if people are attributing the healing power coming from magical crystals and not God-given, then that is idolatry. The verse where NIV says "mediums" should be put to death is a complete misinterpretation as well. KJV clearly shows that 1. God is speaking to idolatry and consulting spirits other than Holy Spirit for guidance, future knowledge and/or magic power (which is, again, idolatry) is sinful, and the verse is just listing off the many forms tricksters hide these unpure intentions under, 2. KJV also does not say God is saying put the people to death; its actually coming after God's commandment to not kill and is listing times where culturally the society would kill to purge the society from unholiness. This is of course coming before New Testament replacing the laws with the understanding of agape (God Love) that Jesus came to share, and it is obvious from the testimony of Jesus that he would not kill any of thee people. KJV does not even use the incorrect translation word "medium"; it clearly states fortune/future-telling and magic powers not acquired from and attributed to God as being the problem. So if any Christians have problems with your crystals, ask them if they have ever taken a vitamin, herb or (worse) an pharma drug. The Native Americans were not worshipping the sun, trees etc as idols/ gods either... they wrote about their belief in Great Spirit (their understanding of Holy Spirit / God), and they were simply giving adoration to God's glorious creations in praise to Great Spirit that connects it all. Yes, it is fear causing divisions, the fear like the settlers had of the native americans. God calls u to Love. sent Jesus to show us what that looks like! And if we love some crystals that God made for us, there is certainly no sin in that!  (Submitted by: Pamela on May 09, 2023)

Thank you for this response. I use crystals within my work to help others connect with whatever they choose to believe in. I always believe and thank the protection and love of God for my doing this to help others learn to relax and bring about good health in their life. I do not ask the person's to thank the crystals but more the creation and creator of them for how they benefit from them. I have had some negative comments recently on my work page regarding it is sin for me to do this. I believe they were created for us to enjoy and benefit from as much as plants and food have been. Your response has helped me greatly understand this. Thank you. God Bless.  (Submitted by: Joanne on April 18, 2021)

This is such a beautiful response ! I grew up Christian & collected crystals from a purely nerdy standpoint when i was younger. Ironically I donated 95% of my collection since they were "just crystals" now im learning about their spiritual properties as a tool to bring me closer to God. It's sad that ppl are afraid of what they don't know it's the intention behind the use. the same thing can be said about the bible but that's a whole different post. God bless you!  (Submitted by: Niki on September 15, 2020)

Thank you so much for explanation. I too have been creating jewelry and I wanted to incorporate crystals but I didn’t know how to correctly explain my reasoning for it. I’ve always loved crystals, the beauty and what I’ve read over the years fascinated me. I believe God created them and they can be used but of course all the glory to God.  (Submitted by: Sheena on January 06, 2020)

I am a life long Christian and had questions regarding the use of crystals. When I started to discover crystals it was my belief that everything that comes from the earth is from God as He created the earth and the fullness there of. The beauty and energy that these stones/crystals carry is nothing short of miraculous. This article confirmed what I was feeling in my spirit, I now feel free to truly share this finding and incorporate these beauties into the jewelry I make.  (Submitted by: Regina on December 03, 2019)

I love working with crystals and I feel God within everything, including crystals. Your question is the very reason I dropped my catholic religion. The constant judgement and condemnation. Everything is wrong and evil according to them. That is not the God I know. I continue to love and work with God in healing, and consider myself spiritual but not religious. It is religion that teaches the judging and condemning. No one who only wants to send healing and love to others is doing wrong. God bless you, keep up the loving work!  (Submitted by: Nina on December 08, 2018)

I am a Christian and a nurse. My comment is regarding a previous comment stating that God does not need our help in healing us and the misuse of things God created. I don't feel God needs our help in healing us, however He did give us a brain to use to research things. If we aren't supposed to do something when we are sick, then why are healthcare costs so high as well as the pharmaceutical use. If holding a crystal makes me feel better then I do not believe God would see that as a bad thing. Medications have a time and a place. Medications also have so very many side effects that can cause more harm than good. Some illness are psychosomatic. I have seen many people use crystals while praying. I don't see how this is any different than a rosary, a cross, Holy water or anything else. If you are not harming yourself or anyone else and using crystals makes you feel better, wouldn't a loving God think this was ok?  (Submitted by: Cathy on December 04, 2018)

I don’t understand how people don’t realize it all works together. The intention behind what you are using crystals for is important. People who use them for evil purposes I do disagree with. But I feel the power within my crystals. I also almost died when I was just four years old and the story heaven is for real is very similar to my story. No one has to tell me there is or isn’t a God or a heaven. When people ask where my proof is that He is real I just say you’re looking at it. Crystals help ME connect. They help ME meditate. I do it along with reading the Bible MY relationship with God is MY business. I don’t talk about it much because I know He is real and it’s very personal to me. I believe I can call on God any time anywhere but sometimes having something tangible helps us feel it even more. So intention is important and what’s in your heart. Crystals don’t take the place of God they just add to the experience of letting Him in.  (Submitted by: Lisa on June 11, 2018)

Thank you for sharing your views on Christianity and the use of crystals. I too am a Christian and love working with crystals. After years of working in jobs that didn't ignite my soul, I made the decision to follow a dream of becoming a Beautician. I now feel finally like I've been guided to my calling. My ultimate goal is to help people feel good about themselves and I plan on bringing crystals and sounds into my treatments. Just recently though I have had a couple of people say that the use of these modalities is not aligned with Christian values, which makes me wonder if I am doing the wrong thing in Gods eyes. It has been good to be confronted on this but at the same time uncomfortable, but what it has done is helped me to realise that God is at the centre and He has a plan. I believe that He has guided me onto this path because through my love of helping people, crystals and sound and with His guidance I can help people.  (Submitted by: Mel on October 26, 2017)

I understand why many Christians wonder how crystals are mentioned in the bible and whether or not they are okay in God's eyes. I've read every comment in this article and noticed none of you spoke about witchcraft, or any new religion practices. Where in the bible does it ever direct you to use crystals to do God's work? Or to use crystals to worship God? In fact if you look through the textbooks of crystal minerals and their properties, it never mentions Jesus Christ or what God has done, can do, will do. Instead it teaches that we can heal ourselves and eachother without God's help. I know this because I use to collect crystals as well. I understand there are different shapes used for different purposes. Some people use it to cast spells on others through black magic, white magic, pink magic, etc. Others use it to tell the future (crystal balls). Some use it to channel spirits to guide them in their life.

I know this is new information to many of you who are new owners to crystals or even those of you who worked with crystals for awhile. But I tell you this now, Satan is the father of lies and can masquerade as an angel of light. These new religions that don't mention God's begotten son or what he's done for us is created by Satan himself. Any religion that requires more than God himself to heal us is calling God a liar, telling us that God needs help from us to heal us.

I know this is hard to accept but I promise you this. There are other religions in this world created by the devil to misguided you from the love of God. I understand many of us want to be open and accepting of other spiritual works and practices but we have got to understand the origins of these things and call it for what it is. New age religions, Wiccan, Satanism, luciferianism and more are of the occult and have witchcraft practices.

Ps: just because God created the things of this earth does not mean we misuse them. People use this as an excuse to try other things like shrouds and marijuana plants which were created by God. But he
also created poisonous plants, are we to eat and smoke these plants as well? We must understand certain things have been created for its own purpose. Just like we were never meant to sit around and do nothing all day if God gave us legs to walk! Anyways God bless and hopefully this reaches out to someone  (Submitted by: Former crystal owner on January 20, 2017)

Taking medicine for an illness or vitamins to boost my immunity doesn't mean that I am less reliant on God as Healer than using crystals to amplify, transmit, or transduce my bodily energy. It's like saying God will heal me and not following instructions to get well. I dont worship my doctor ormypills. Plants, herbs, crystals. God created them with properties for us for us to use in a way that shows love to Himself and others.  (Submitted by: Frances on June 07, 2017)

I know this thread is really old but just refer them to the Bible itself. To anyone who thinks the Bible doesn’t mention this -respectfully, you are wrong. Please reference exodus ch28 and you will see the detailed instructions for the breastplate of the priests. It was set with specific CRYSTALS carved like signets by an engraver and it was used to determine the will of God. So that is the very definition of crystals as a communication conduit between men and God. Have a nice day all.  (Submitted by: AC on August 22, 2018)

As a Christian also I really appreciated the article. A couple years ago I had a very nice collection of crystals. But because of scepticism and pressure I got rid of most of them. Now I am regretting that choice and am hoping to rebuild some of my collection. And thanks to previous responses I know now how I can use them is built from intent.  (Submitted by: Jan M on November 28, 2016)

Hi Debbie and other beautiful Christians out there. I was searching to see if loving crystals are bad for Christians and that's how I find this old blog of yours. Nevertheless, still apply and appreciated.

I was let to know about crystals this year and I actually studied the geological character of each crystals. I do believe, if it's works, it should work without any hocus-pocus. God created them, with the vibration and colour, and hidden under ground for very long time.

What I find tricky on the other hand, is this. Usually to get crystals, is coming from a new age store or online. So I am making sure to clean and clear any previous programing or manipulation and pray over it asking the Holy Spirit to purify it. Sun is very powerfully discharges crystals over a day or two as well.

I bought a melody's stone or super seven this week. And I find an intense harmony, blissfulness and serenity surrounded me, ever since I have it. Anyone has any experience with it?

Thank you in advance.
God bless you 😊

  Hi K.
I am a crystal and energy healer and have experienced the same feelings and negativity from others. I have to say, though, that there are A LOT of people out there that are open..and that's fantastic! I believe that if you have good intentions surrounding the use of crystals (or anything for that matter) then nothing can go wrong! God/Spirit did put these beautiful healing tools on this planet for us as human beings to discover and implement in our day to day lives for the good of all.
I agree with Carol...Tourmaline and Selenite are a beautiful combo when dealing with naysayers. And LOVE of course _3
Know that you will always come across skeptics and the like, only because they don't understand and so demonize the concept out of fear. However, please understand that it's not their fault. Just believe with all your heart and soul that what you are doing is positive and good, regardless of what anyone says...and during all this explain with pure love your take on what crystals can help us do to anyone that will listen, without forcing the subject. Knowledge and experience is key.
Good luck on your crystal journey. It is a beautiful one. Hang in there!!  (Submitted by: Lex on October 08, 2015)

Wow! Thank you Debbie. I'm new to crystals and I too am Christian. In many respects I've been able to find a happy medium. For instance, after cleansing my stones, I dedicate them to God through prayer. Sometimes, I play Christian music softly in the background during my dedication. Admittedly, I have been a bit conflicted, but your response has been very helpful. As you know, as Christian we undergo a literal "conditioning". I think you sharing more about your journey with crystals as a Christian would help so many people. Just the little I've gotten has made feel so much better.
