Crystal Prescriptions

Book Review by Stephanie Arnold

Author: Judy Hall

ISBN: 9781905047406

One of my favorite healing books, Crystal Prescriptions is a wonderful book for anyone using crystals for specific ailments. This book consists of two parts. Part I includes various general information relating to crystal healing. Here is where you will find information on dowsing, choosing and clearing crystals, chakras, and how to make a crystal remedy. There are basic directions for healing people with crystals, using crystal grids, and placing crystals around your space. Each topic is only briefly covered, as this information is not the primary focus of this book. I love the chart that Judy Hall includes indicating which crystals work best when placed directly on the skin. She also provides directions on using the book and even some examples on how to interpret the information for your own use.  Anyone new to crystal healing would find this useful guide easy to use and interpret.

Part II is the A to Z directory of symptoms. There are over 1,200 symptoms listed here with suggestions of crystals to remedy them. Judy Hall includes everything from Clumsiness to Past Lives, and Depression to Wisdom, often with more detailed subheadings below the primary symptom. She provides several crystals for each symptom and when necessary, indicates how best to use the crystal for this type of healing. For example, in case of Fear, she suggests wearing Rutilated Quartz continuously or taking an Emerald crystal remedy. I like how she includes many options and easily-found crystals, which allows me to select from the stones I already have available. This part of the book is a great quick-reference to use as problems occur.

Although she includes an extensive list, not all symptoms are listed and you may have to modify your search to find the information you are looking for. Crystals are not always included under every symptom they can help with either. This book is not a colorful visual reference, like Judy Hall’s Crystal Bible, and is printed in only one color with few pictures and diagrams. Despite the lack of color pictures, the information included is valuable and easy to use. Regardless of these few shortcomings, I would recommend this book as a wonderful addition to any healer’s collection.
