Can you help me please? My son passed away in Dec. 2006 and I am having an extremely hard time. I took him to the hospital for surgery and never brought him home. He was 10. That day keeps playing over and over in my head and I can't stand it. What crystals can you recommend I get? Or items? Thank you

-Heather

Dear Heather~

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. While I will certainly recommend some crystals for you, there is one thing I must mention first: it is of the utmost importance that you get some grief counseling, if you haven't already. This type of counseling is imperative to your emotional survival, and crystals can provide energetic support for this process.

The first stone I thought of was Chrysoprase because it works so well with the Heart Chakra. A shock as deep as the loss of a child will often cause the Heart Chakra to react in a negative way, creating blockages, closing up, or becoming torn. Chrysoprase can help to fortify this chakra, and bring hope into desperate situations. I chose Chrysoprase because of its specific ability to help those grieving from a deep loss to understand any hidden purposes behind such loss. We have some Chrysoprase at this page:

A very important crystal for any type of grief is Rose Quartz. Rose Quartz is one of the most supportive crystals I know of, and has offered me its energetic help on more than one occasion. Especially helpful in a crisis, Rose Quartz is the crystal of unconditional love which can offer its soothing energies to counteract the stress build up that naturally occurs with the grief process. Working with Rose Quartz can help one to learn how to let any repressed emotions out so they can be expressed, and finally released. We have a large selection of Rose Quartz at this page:

Azurite offers a different energy that will be helpful to you in your situation. With its focus on the Third-Eye and Throat Chakras, Azurite can bring in guidance from the higher realms, helping the intellect to process this new knowledge with experiences, into wisdom. Azurite can be used to facilitate a deep state of relaxation needed for the most productive types of meditation, which are surely needed to help you progress through your grief. Azurite also helps to dissolve energy blockages and communication blockages. We have some Azurite on this page:

Although very powerful, I must recommend Black Obsidian because you mentioned that you just can't stand it anymore. Well, I have been through a heavy loss such as yours, and I can relate to that statement. Black Obsidian can help to pull off the highly charged negative emotions that have temporarily taken over your life. In your state, a good grounding stone can offer a great deal of relief. Black Obsidian connects one to the Earth for her gentle protection and support. Transforming negative vibrations, Black Obsidian can clear out energy blockages that interrupt emotional growth, but it will definitely bring any repressed issues to the surface so they can be resolved once and for all, so you should be prepared for some hard work ahead. However, the result will be more than worth it. If you want to take a look at some Black Obsidian, please see this page:

Remember to cleanse your stones, especially after the deep work you must do to move beyond your grief. For information on this, see this article:

May I just make one more suggestion to you.  I would try not to own the grief.   By owning it, saying it's yours, or saying things like "my sadness".   You don't want the energy of your sadness to attach to you.  It's just my personal opinion, but it might help.  You can still love him without letting it hurt you.  Maybe you could do a little private ritual for him, to help let him go, with stones, candles, incense, music, maybe in his room... peaceful, with a window open to let the negative feelings go.  It might also help you to do some aura cleansing afterwards, and even on a semi-regular basis.

I hope this helps.  Please do not hesitate to send me another email if you have any other questions.

Peace and Love,

~Crystal CAT

I was looking for crystals to help a friend with the loss of her father when I came across this website and the stories told within this page. As I read your stories, the tears started to flow. I’m deeply sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine the grief and struggle one would go through. I hope and pray the crystals bring you some comfort.  (Submitted by: Katie on February 20, 2020)

I am in a hotel while my darling nephew Loukas is on life support after being hit by a car. I love my crystals - I have a large quarts point, a medium large amethyst and a smoky quarts with me right now and they are giving me so much comfort and I hope to get some sleep so I can support my brother and his wife tomorrow. I have hundreds of crystals but I am still just learning about how to work with them properly and finding this page and reading your thoughtful answers was just what I needed right now. To know that I can get help and use my crystals in this way. My brother does not work with crystals but he might be interested - as time goes by - in having a few in his pocket. I find my crystals to be a great source of support in my life.  (Submitted by: Christie on September 25, 2015)
