I'm interested in several of the gemstones. I don't really know the difference between Onyx, Obsidian and Black Tourmaline. Also, I read one of your caution article about Black Tourmaline contains this reference to wearing the jewelry or by placing somewhere? As far as an Amethyst cluster, is there specific direction to place at home to take the negative energy away? Can Amethyst cluster place together with Citrine cluster? As far as cluster, how often need to be cleaned?

Hi Lisa:

Thank you so much for your questions.  Here is a quick explanation of the differences in Onyx, Obsidian& Black Tourmaline.

Onyxis a denser, more earthy crystal. Obsidian is volcanic glass so it has more of a fire element to it.  Black Tourmaline is double terminated so it draws in any negative energy, transforms it and then releases the positive.  All 3 are very protective, grounding and work with the Root Chakra.  I use all 3 for different types of protection and grounding but it is really a matter of personal preference.  I like Onyxfor grounding when I meditate, Black Obsidianfor personal protection and Black Tourmaline to protect my space (home, office, etc.).  I would suggest that you go with the one that calls to you the most...that will be the one that will offer you the energy that you are looking for.  The cautions that we mention are to help you work safely with the crystals.  I wear and handle Black Tourmaline all the time but I do not ingest it in any way and will wash my hands after I have handled it for a period of time.

You can absolutely use Amethyst and Citrine together...they are both part of the Quartz family and they are combined in the crystal Ametrine.  I would place the crystals wherever you feel that more positive energy is needed in your home.  I have an Amethyst Cluster by my front door to bring positive energy into and throughout my home.

Finally, here is a video from our You Tube channel about clearing and charging your crystals.  Hopefully you will find this helpful and take a moment to check out the other videos on here since you might find them a valuable resource.
