Seahorse Animal Totem

This animal totem is Seahorse – Contentment, Patience, Observation, Balance

Seahorse is a calm, slow moving fish whose body has remained unchanged since their inception. This could be symbolic that they are happy and content with whom they are and see no need to change. What they are works for them.  Conversely Seahorse could be telling you that you are being resistant to change. Are you happy and content with yourself and your life as it is? If you are not then change is a must.  What is the fear behind your resistance to change? Uncovering that fear will allow you to face and heal that aspect of your life.  Refusal to change can and will hinder your healing and personal evolution.

Seahorse's body has an armored appearance and their tail wraps around plants/coral to anchor them when necessary. When they do move, the slowly amble around. Is your armor to thick that it makes you inflexible? Can you let your guard down and be vulnerable? Are you stubborn? Are you holding on to something that you should have long let go of? Are you rushing through life? Do you let the turbulence of life push you along or do you anchor yourself until the turbulence passes? If you are anchored, are you being rigid or flexible as the currents pass you?

Seahorse’s eyes move independently constantly observing their surroundings. This might be telling you that you need to pay more attention to what is going on around you. Take time to observe and watch. Move slowly and with awareness while keeping your mind focused. Can you get a better perspective on your life by altering your perception? Do you rely on preconceived notions?

Lastly, it is the male Seahorse that gives birth, cares for and protects its offspring. Are you rigid in your ideas of gender roles? Maybe this is a message that you need to reverse your role from a provider to a nurturer. Can you gain perspective from seeing both sides? Are you suppressing your masculine/feminine side? Can you allow your alternate side to become the counterbalance within?

Crystals to help remember Seahorse's medicine are:

Contentment:

Patience:

Grounding:

Balance:
