Question: Will sunlight hurt my amethyst?

Answer:

Hi there,

Thank you for contacting Healing Crystals and for your patience! Some crystals can fade in the sun with too much exposure. Amethyst is one of the crystals that can fade with too much sun exposure. By removing it from the direct sunlight and UV rays, and placing it in a dark area, you stopped the colour from fading. It is the UV light that fades the colour! Here is a fantastic article that explains the science of this.

In my research, I found that the crystal will still work fine for you. It's vibration may be lowered as the colour has changed, but it will still work for you. As the colour faded, the energy may be more subtle and gentle.
