Why would Faden Quartz cause intense pain in the body?

Question:

"I used faden quartz for the first time and it caused intense nerve pain all over my body, to the point where I had a full blown panic attack. I'm extremely concerned by this and only Reiki could fix the pain. Any ideas? Thank you!"

Hi A,

Thanks for reaching out to Healing Crystals! What you're describing is not unheard of. I know many people who have strange reactions to certain crystals. My husband has chest pains whenever he uses shungite or black tourmaline. I have a few ideas you can try, but if these don't work, it may be wise to stop working with that particular crystal. The first thing you can do is give it a thorough cleansing. Quartz holds up well in water, so you could soak it in salt water and lay it out under moonlight. You could also use sage smoke or sound to clear it. If none of that seems to change the reaction you are having, then again, it may be a good idea to set it aside for now. Some people find that if they work with crystals that cause physical reactions like this for short amounts of time over several days, the symptoms lessen and ultimately go away. This is one of those things you will have to experiment with and see what will be best for you. As far as why this is happening, you will have to look at the list of Faden Quartz properties and see which of them resonate with you. It could be that the quartz is doing some deep healing work for one of these issues:
