Hi, I am an amatuer paranormal investigator. I use Black Tourmaline and Smokey Quartz along with my Lapis pendulum for protection while on investigations. Many times I have the opportunity to help a spirit cross over to the other side. My question is what would be a good crystal to use for spirit rescue? Thanks!

I would recommend Selenite, Charoite, and Blue Lace Agate for helping spirits to cross over. Selenite has a very peaceful and calming energy and is good for spiritual communication. Charoite helps you receive information from and communicate with spirits. Blue Lace Agate is a wonderful communication crystal that can help facilitate interactive communication with spirits. All three are higher vibration crystals that would help with the crossing over process.
You are right to carry Black Tourmaline and Smokey Quartz during your work. Please make sure after any work of this nature that you ground your energy. As part of my healing practice, I make a spray for my clients that contains sage, lavender, cedarwood, peppermint, and sweet orange oils, along with Black Tourmaline gemstone chips. You might consider using something similar to this after any spirit communication or interaction to clear, ground, and protect your own energy.
