I'm a beginner & have started trying to meditate with crystals. Sometimes it feels as if there is coolness or even a cool breeze blowing into my body where I have placed the stone, even tho the stone itself feels warm from my body heat. Other times, when I remove the stone, it often feels as if it is still in place for a minute or so. Could I be imagining this? Or am I sensing the energy from the stone? I wasn't expecting to feel anything except stone on skin!

Answer:

Dear L,
I must share the standard disclaimer that I am not a doctor and cannot give out medical advice. Crystals for healing should be used as a compliment to other therapies and not as a replacement for regular medical care.

What you are feeling is the energy of the stones. And what a wonderful thing for you. Many people never feel the true energy a stone or crystal has to offer. If you still feel the stone even after removing it, it means that it was not done in what it was doing weither healing or enhancing abilities or helping in your meditation. It means that this stone has something to offer you that you needed. I would suggest you sit with this stone and allow it to continue its work. Carry it with you for a while. It will tell you when it is done.

Well, I've been using different stones and most of them seem to do it, particularly the milk quartz, rose quartz, & the unakite. I use a different stone every time because I am still experimenting. I also don't use them unless I am feeling particularly badly from depression; usually my medical treatment & Christian prayer do the job, but lately I've been feeling horrible in spite of these & decided to try adding crystals to the mix. So I don't wear them or carry them all the time--just keep them in my apartment. Once the weather turns warmer I will probably put the milk quartz back in my car--I commute a lot. I do a lot of praying and hymn-singing to Jesus in my car, so I figure, "Go ahead and beam THAT back to me." :)

I'm not sure what went on with the bloodstone; I was relaxing with a small piece of amber over my heart & forgot that I was also wearing a necklace I made of bloodstone beads that I made merely for jewelry &were not cleansed or charged. I swore my back & the backs of my arms were tingling rather intensely. I wondered what was up until later when I took off the necklace to change clothes...then, I thought...do you suppose it was the bloodstones? I have another tumbled bloodstone hiding somewhere & I'm thinking of finding that & using it intentionally to see what happens. I was very surpised at the unexpected sensation that I had never experienced before.

I really didn't expect anything much to happen beyond placebo effect, if that. But I sure seemed like I felt better after trying the milk quartz & the rose. Go figure. In fact, one afternoon it felt like my pain was literally dissolving--I was wearing a rose quartz pendant & not meditating. Wild!

Thanks for dealing with all my questions. I've been reading articles on your site & am having fun researching the stones & their uses.

You are very welcome, and are free to ask as many questions as you need to help you. Your intuition on choosing stones seem to be the right ones for you. Bloodstone is a great healing stone, Rose Quartz is gentle, with such a loving healing energy. Milky or Snow Quartz is a stone of wisdom, bringing to the surface the wisdom buried deep within yourself. They make for a good combination for healing and self-realization. As I alway tell people, trust your intuition, it will tell you what you need.
