Question:

"I purchased a selenite slab sometime ago. I know that selenite is a form of gypsum, which is soft. My question is what is on the slab of selenite that's making it "hard" and stiff? Can I still use it?"

Answer:

Greetings P,

Thank you for your crystal inquiry.
Selenite when polished has a beautiful sheen but it is still fragile and can be scratched with a fingernail. Polishing just helps to smooth the surface so it does not flake like Selenite does. if it gets scratched it can be lightly buffed with a nail buffer to smooth it back out.
It is perfectly fine to use! You can use it on yourself, hold during meditation, or use it to charge other crystals. It is wonderful for so many things. Click here for an informative article about Selenite.

I hope you find this helpful!
