can you tell me:
What is the vibrational rate of Quartz crystal?
What stone or crystal has the highest and lowest vibrational rate?
Do you know of any publication that has this type of information?
Thanks for your help.
Steve

Hi Steve,
Wow! you are really challenging me with this one! We are talking serious scientific data here and I admit it is way over my head. But, I will give it my best shot.
I did a search using the following question, "What is the vibrational rate of quartz?" and got literally hundreds of suggested papers, articles and the like. I highly recommend you do the same. There are many, many papers that have been written on this subject.
Lots of these articles speak of oscillators and resonators, but a specific answer to your question did not appear to be forthcoming. After reading this information, I would say that the answer is, that there is no one specific answer, as there are many variables that need to be taken into account. Scientifically there are many things to consider including the geometry, size, physical property, etc. Metaphysically, there are also things to consider that could vary the vibration including time, location, elements, etc.
I do not think there is ONE stone that has the lowest vibration and ONE that has the highest. For me, there are a variety of stones that have a lower, grounding vibration such as Hematite, Jasper, Jet, Obsidian. Most stones in the Black, Brown, and Red color families are most certainly lower, grounding vibrations.
The stones with very high vibrations tend to be clear to white, gold, purple and pink. Some of this may be in part because they correspond to color frequencies (which, I believe can be measured). There is a great book entitled, Edgar Cayce on the Power of Color, Stones and Crystals ISBN0-446-34982-8 that goes into great detail both scientifically and metaphysically. I would highly recommend starting there.
I hope this has been of some assistance to you. Please keep us posted on your research. I am always up for learning new things!
with love and crystal blessings,
