Thank you for your crystal inquiry.
Protection crystals to use for spirits or for raised activity in spiritual situations vary from person to person. Many, like me, use Black Tourmaline or Black Onyx for protection of the spiritual nature. I find Black Tourmaline placed in spots of raised activity can help to neutralize said activity. Either crystal would be good for personal protection also. Wear it when you are in the house at all times.
You can also place a Selenite tower in a very active room to try and draw more light into the room to help keep it cleansed.

 In my experience selenite is good for protection & cleansing. In my recommendation don't use black tourmaline alone . As black tourmaline will absorb more & more negativity & it will need to be cleansed more & more regularly. Using selenite with black tourmaline will keep tourmaline cleansed & energize Place selenite+black tourmaline + rose quartz together in 4 corners of the house . Or you can try placing it in 4 corners of the bed room or in each room. Black tourmaline is for deflecting negativity away . It will keep vibration high with selenite & in high vibration room low vibration will not enter there . Best way to protect your self is to use pure iron bangle jointless. Women should wear it on left hand & men should wear it on right hand . Wearing it spirits afraid to come near you. (In my experin experience it works ) You can try placing christ cross selenite at the entrance of the main door or just a print out picture of Hamuman as spirits dont go to that house where hanuman resides .
