"Hi, I am interested in some crystals to help my daughter. She suffers PTSD from abuse. She has a lot of irrational fears and is scared of the downstairs level of our home. I am looking at purchasing tourmaline, rose quartz and topaz. Is this what you would suggest? In what quantity? Should these crystals just be near her, by her bed, for example? I am thinking of purchasing a larger qty of tourmaline (black) to set in the lower level of our home (I can understand her feeling, it has an odd 'who's standing behind me' feeling). Suggestions?"
Thank you for your crystal inquiry. Firstly, I would like to send you and your family healing blessings.
With regards to crystals for PTSD healing, in my opinion Black Tourmaline is a wonderful one for grounding and protection. When she feels out of control she can hold some in her hand until these feelings pass. The Rose Quartz will be helpful in guiding her to a feeling of self love and self acceptance. I am not sure about the Topaz but I would suggest some Lepidolite. Lepidolite is a useful crystal for balancing and transition.
What I mean by transition is that it can help remove old energy patterns and shift them, bringing more hope to the situation. It is also good for depression.
She could wear them in jewelry, such as bracelets or necklaces, or she can keep them with her in a pouch. It would also be helpful if she kept some on her bedside stand. Here is a series of articles that may help you understand working with crystals. And there are many more recsources on the website.
Putting the Black Tourmaline around the lower level of your home will help block negative energy. But before you do that you should cleanse the space before setting them in each corner. Here is an article that can help with cleansing the space. Your crystals should also be cleansed before use, see this link.
I hope you find this helpful.
