Thank you so much for such your questions. Lemurian Seed Crystals (also sometimes called Lemurian Quartz) differ from other quartz crystals in a few ways. One of the most interesting is that they are typically found loose in the sand banks and not in clusters like most quartz crystals. They are usually found in mountain top locations most notably in Brazil and Peru. They have a very distinct appearance with striations or grooves on one or more sides of the crystal and different colorations including clear, smokey and pink. Some have a coating of iron oxide which may cause the color variations.
There is legend of an ancient civilization called Lemuria that was similar to Atlantis but more spiritual and peaceful. As their civilization was coming to an end they planted these "seeds" in a grid like pattern around the world. The crystals were encoded with their messages of healing, peace and oneness with the universe. That is why each Lemurian Seed Crystal must be "activated" rather than "programmed". This crystal has already been programmed and it's purpose is to channel that information to the user. To activate, simply hold the crystal while meditating and rub the grooves - some call the "bar code" - of the crystal.
