Amethyst Double Terminated Pendants with different Jewels

Question:

"I make jewelry with semi precious stone beads. I understand the hardness part about mixing stones, but what I'd really like to know is which stones should not be mixed together due to their energetic properties, i.e., do some cancel each other out, enhance negative qualities, as an example should apatite and tourmaline be mixed together? Which, if any stone combination I should avoid in my jewelry? Thanks."

Answer:

Hi, D-D.

There are no inherently wrong/right or good/bad combinations of crystals. Personally, I do feel that people may experience two crystals with different energies cancelling out the sets of properties of each stone. Not everyone feels this way; You'll have to use your intuition in determining your own belief.

Think of it like day and night. Say you have a stimulating crystal for physical energy, mental sharpness, productivity, stamina for your daytime needs and a gentle crystal for calmness, relaxation, sleep for your nighttime needs. It might be best to wear or carry them separately, when their properties are needed, instead of keeping them together 24/7.

However, intention plays a part too. I'll use the property of creativity as an example. Pyrite (mentally/physically/emotionally stimulating and energizing) and Larimar (mentally/physically/emotionally relaxing and calming) can both enhance creativity, so if that were a user's strongest intention, when pairing them together, they just might get good results. A lot of working with crystals is experimentation, trial and error and finding out which crystals resonate with an individual's energies, rather than which crystals do or don't work with each other.

I know that sounds complicated and possibly isn't helpful for your question. However, that has been my experience with crystals over the years - trusting my intuition and experimenting.
