"Greetings, I was wondering if it's safe to wear an amethyst pendant on the neck when taking a hot shower? And also I was wondering which crystals or stones would be best to help protect against the corona virus?"

Amethyst is one of those more "hardy" stones that can handle a water bath on a regular basis. Amethyst and water generally work well together. That being said, while the Amethyst may be fine, whatever chain your pendant is hanging on may not fair as well as the crystal. Cotton cords can wear over time and metals can tarnish or fade. You need to keep that in mind.
There are no crystals that can help cure or protect against the corona virus as crystals are not a medical substitute, but they can complement other forms of therapy and assist on an energetic level. Crystals that I feel would offer great support include:
Bloodstone or Serpentine to energetically support the immune system, Apatite to encourage mindful eating so that you look after your body, Red Jasper or Carnelian to encourage you to look after your body and not be stagnant too much, Aquamarine or Blue Kyanite to energetically support the lungs.
