Greetings! I have a question that I hope you can answer. I just purchased a very clear quartz "synthetic" wand from a different buyer. I did not pay attention to the word "synthetic" when I bought it. I contacted the buyer who said that the wand was created from a seed crystal in a lab which helped to create great clarity. He also said that since this was created from a seed crystal, it would still contain the piezoelectric properties. I explained that I use my crystals for healing purposes. He knew nothing about using "synthetic" crystals for healing or generating energy. Is there a real difference between a lab created quartz crystal wand and a natural one in reference to healing energies? I have been buying from you for years (just put in an order a few days ago) and I thought you might be able to help me! Thank you, _love and Light, Michele

I have seen the wands you speak of and was able to hold one or two of them as the vendor showed them to us. I can only speak from personal experience and I am sure each person's view will be different, as we each carry our own unique energy vibration. For me personally, I do feel that lab enhanced crystals have their place in healing modalities. There was a definite energy signature for sure!
I went to the Mineral Information Institute for some answers. "In the production of cultured quartz crystals, a “seed crystal” is needed. A seed crystal is a small piece of carefully selected, non-electronics-grade quartz. The manufactured crystal grows on this seed crystal. Seed crystals of quartz are called lascas.
The United States is 100% dependent on imported lascas for manufactured quartz crystals. The major sources for lascas are Canada, Brazil, Germany and Madagascar. China, South Africa and Venezuela are other reported producers of quartz lascas.
Cultured quartz is used in electronic applications, where its special physical properties are valuable. Quartz is one of several minerals which are piezoelectric, meaning that when pressure is applied to quartz, a positive electrical charge is created at one end of the crystal and a negative electrical charge is created at the other. It is also strongly pyroelectric which means that temperature changes can cause the development of positive and negative charges within the crystal. These properties make quartz valuable in electronics applications. While some other minerals may have these properties, quartz is used because it is transparent, tough, and of unvarying chemical composition."
So, what we are looking at is a controlled environment as opposed to a naturally occurring one. And basically, the lab grown piece does start with a quartz crystal. While these pieces do not carry the naturally occurring crystal energy created by time, location, and crystal growth they can be very effective for transmitting energy whether used in a healing practice or creating grids, etc. The clarity of the piece may even enhance the energy transmission.
My best advice is to use your new wand in a variety of healing circumstances and take mental (and physical) notes on what occurs. Get your clients feedback as you work on them as well. I think you will be able to find a number of uses for your new cultured quartz wand. :)
