"I have a burning question, which has been bothering me for years. This issue has been going on for about seven years now.
There are a number of crystals, among them amethyst, lepidolite, moonstone and even rose quartz, but also others, that I soon as I wear them give me a pain down the outside of me left leg, mainly around the knee calf and ankle area. This accompanied by insomnia. Once I remove the crystals the pain subsides, but can linger for a few days. I have the same symptoms with acupuncture, homeopathy and Reiki.
This is really bothersome and makes me miss out on the benefits of lots of crystals and other healing techniques. Have you got any idea what is going here?"
Thank you so much for asking about this question and for your patience in my reply. Crystal healing can be a very individual process and some people are extremely sensitive to the energies crystals offer. You simply may not be compatible with those crystals! I recommend really listening to your body when it comes to healing. If you're experiencing pain when using a crystal, I say discontinuing its use. If you have a stone or two that you really like and that work for you, I suggest focusing on building a relationship with those crystals; these are the crystals that you need and that support you in your healing.
With crystals, your strong and clear intention directs the healing energy. So make sure you have that going for you when you are working with the mentioned crystals. Technically, you could use only 1 crystal for your entire life and still reap a variety of benefits as long as your intention holds strong.
As well, in my experience, chakra balancing can be useful for cases like yours. This may help create a flow of healing through your energy body which can create sacred space within that can peacefully work with other energy healing such as crystals. Chakra balancing can be done a variety of ways. For example, meditation, energy cleansing, shamanic healing, reiki, crystals, nature.
Here are a few links for learning about chakra healing: article 1; article 2. As well, here is a video on crystals for chakra healing.

| That's definitely advice well worth heeding. Sometimes, a certain person, and certain crystal(s), just aren't compatible... though over time, that person may find, as I have, that their compatibility with those crystals changes. This is particularly true after a major life change such as diagnosis of a lifelong medical condition. For example: last year (2017) I was diagnosed as having Rheumatoid Arthritis. Post-diagnosis, I found myself being drawn to crystals I'd been completely unable to work with pre-diagnosis. I used to find the Solar Gems (Topaz, Citrine, Peridot, Amber, Golden Healer Quartz, Yellow Sapphire and Heliodor) near impossible to work with - Citrine was the only one I got along with - but now, I'm friends with, and can use, five out of the seven. (Gotta love Heliodor when your fingers are so stiff in the morning, you can barely move them!)|
I can also approach this from the opposite point of view: I own a gorgeous and very powerful natural Clear Quartz wand, which has come back to me from a previous incarnation. It's rather, um...... singular? It's always fine with me, but if anyone else tries to use it, it sends an electric shock up their arm, as much to say, "Hey, you're not Cherry! Put me down, I don't want to work with you!" I've never met such a *faithful* crystal. (Submitted by: Cherry Blackmore on November 28, 2018)
