Prasiolite is a light to dark green crystal that ranges from translucent to opaque. It has mint and olive-green hues, and a glassy luster. In its natural form, prasiolite is often marked with natural etchings throughout. When tumbled, some pieces may have white banding and swirls, especially when treated. Prasiolite is sometimes called “Green Amethyst” or “Greened Amethyst”, and it is important to note that almost all of the Green Amethyst crystals that you see on the market have had their color lab enhanced.
