I always thought Green Amethyst (some call it Prasiolite, I believe) is natural, but read somewhere yesterday that it is in fact, a heated amethyst. Which one is true? Thank you!

Thanks for contacting us with your question. Prasiolite, or Green Amethyst, is formed when Amethyst is heated either in artificially in ovens or naturally by volcanic thermal activity. Most of the Prasiolite you can find in stores is heat treated. I hope this information helps you. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
