Question:

"Hi all, this is not my strong area, and I really want to be able to help the person who asked this, so I thought one of you might be able to help me with this. My neighbor just got back from Iraq, well 4 weeks ago, and has steadily been getting worse and worse. His wife asked me If I could get him some crystals that will help him to re-adjust. She said he is really struggling mentally, is very on edge, can't stop thinking about the war and isn't sleeping. He's not really doing anything, doesn't even leave the house. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!"

Answer:

Dear V~

My heart goes out to the soldiers dealing with these issues.  It is my deep desire that this veteran can benefit from the loving energies of the crystals recommended here.

Before discussing the crystals, I would like to suggest that he tried to meditate on a daily basis. The method I feel would be the most beneficial to him is to try to empty the mind of thought. I have found this meditation very comforting, and also a great way to clear the mind of all thought.

The first crystal that came to me in thinking about this issue is Amethyst. Amethyst has a protective and peaceful vibration that is helpful during crisis. Amethyst can encourage inner strength and relieve stress. Holding an Amethyst Crystal can generate a protective bubble of Light energy. Amethyst has a high vibration that can open and activate the Third-Eye and Crown Chakras, opening one up to spiritual direction. Meditation with Amethyst can facilitate a connection to Divine Love and guidance, and bring insights either during the meditation or long after. Keeping an Amethyst cluster in a room can help to send its healing, peaceful vibes out into the environment. Amethyst works primarily with the Third-Eye, Crown, and Etheric Chakras, and can be placed on these areas during body layouts.

A great stone to provide calm during periods of high stress is Lithium Quartz. The Lithium contained in this Quartz is the same mineral used in antidepressant medication, but in its pure form as it comes out of the Earth. Lithium Quartz uplifts the mental and emotional bodies, and gently moves repressed anger and grief to the surface so it can be healed. Those who are having trouble sleeping due to stress and tension will benefit from Lithium Quartz's soothing vibration. Lithium Quartz is used for deep healing on both the physical and emotional levels, and can open up the Heart Chakra to receive intuitive insights from the Divine. Placements for Lithium Quartz in a body layout include the Heart and Third-Eye Chakras.

Finally, I suggest working with opaque Pink Calcite. This is a Heart Chakra stone that encourages emotional and physical wellness. Specifically, it is very supportive to those who are undergoing severe stress and trauma. Pink Calcite can clear energy blockages and promote the release of deep negative emotions. Meditating with Pink Calcite can assist with an understanding of the neccessity of All That Is, and an acknowledgment of the Divine Perfection in it. Also known as Mangano Calcite, this stone can help us to recognize that there is a greater plan at work than what can be readily seen from our perspective, thus aiding us to at last let go and let God.

I hope this is a help to your friend. Of course, this information is not intended to replace medical care. If this soldier is not currently in any kind of psychological therapy, I would highly recommend that he look into it. These suggestions can be used in conjunction with any conventional treatment he would be taking.

In Love and Light,
~Crystal CAT
