I'm a newcomer, recently stumbling onto the healing properties of crystals. I'd like to ask what crystals you might suggest for my sister, who seems to be suffering from postpartum depression. I don't believe she's ever experienced any type of depression before now. This is her 3rd child, the other two are healthy & the news was very unexpected when her latest bundle of joy was born and she found out the baby has Down Syndrome. I think she's distraught & overwhelmed with this news. Thank you in advance for any suggestions or thoughts.

Dear K,

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry to hear your sister is suffering from postpartum depression! The first crystal that I would recommend is Carnelian, because it is one of the strongest crystals for balancing the hormones and promoting optimism. Citrine is also a great stone that promotes joy, optimism, courage, and strengthens self-confidence and will. Finally, Black Tourmaline guards against negativity and is very grounding, so that might be another one to try. It would be best to try them out individually for a few days first and then put them together, if she feels like it. She will probably feel drawn to those that can most help her.
