Question: My blue apatite got scratched...how did this happen?
Answer:
Hi,
Thank you so much for reaching out!
When we think about crystals and gem stones, the only stone that cannot scratch is diamond. Looking at the Mohs hardness scale (which is a rating system for comparing mineral hardness) Blue Apatite is a 5. Meaning that there are a number of other crystals who can scratch it, gouge it, wear off the polish. I'm not sure what other stones you have with it in your pouch, but even if it rubs against any crystals from the quartz family it can get worn down.
You could perhaps put your blue apatite friend in a little pouch separate from the other crystals!
I hope this helps!
Don't forget to clear your crystals.
