I would say that Nuummite is related to the Earth Star Chakra which is our connection to energy from mother earth and it could help with that connection to Earth, receiving energy from the Earth and being more grounded. From what I understand, it can be quite a difficult crystal to obtain and isn't very widely available.
According to Healing Crystals for You (website): Nuummite has an incredibly powerful energy. It is an extraordinary aid to move your spiritual growth forward quickly. It is said to help you attune yourself with deep earth energy.
It was first discovered in Greenland but smaller deposits can be found in Canada, Spain and the USA.
Judy Hall (The Crystal Bible, Vol.2) says that "Nuummite is the sorcerer's stone and is powerfully protective against ill-wishing and psychic manipulation."
It assists in seeing beyond the outer facade and is highly protective and strengthens the auric shield.
It is also said to be beneficial for insomnia, stress, degenerative disease, tissue regeneration, Parkinson's disease, headaches, insulim regulation, the eyes, brain kidneys and nerves. It also can strengthen the triple-burner meridian.
She suggests to wear it constantly for protection; but it can also be held, used in a grid or placed as appropriate.
If you are looking for something similar, I would suggest taking a look at Labradorite perhaps which is also quite a mystical stone that is shielding and protective but can also assist with astral projection and radical transformation.
