"Hi, I have been very upset since yesterday. I have a pendulum which is made up of all the 7 chakra crystals. Yesterday when I had gone to pick up a Bagua mirror and some bracelets for myself, it fell and the last two stone came out. The larger piece is slightly chipped but I glued the two pieces back because I didn’t want to let go of my pendulum. I used it and it seemed to be working fine. I felt horrible for dropping it but felt that even with its imperfection, it’s fine for me. However now I am told that I shouldn’t use it because it may not work accurately. Please help me. I can’t seem to let go of it. Also I was told that it took on some negativity for me and its purpose is over. I am confused."
Hello, M. I'm sorry to hear about your pendulum; It's always a bummer to drop a beloved crystal!
However, I don't feel that a chipped or broken crystal is a reason to stop working with it. There is a popular notion that when a crystal breaks, it has served it's purpose. Personally, that does not resonate with me. I feel that a broken crystal can be one reason a crystal might break, but I don't feel that it is the only reason for a crystal breaking.
I have never heard of a crystal taking on a negative energy due to breaking. To me, that sounds like someone's personal theory with a bit of paranoia behind it.
Sometimes, simple accidents happen and we drop things, causing them to break. There is not always a deeper meaning behind this type of occurrence.
My favorite Rainbow Moonstone that I've been working with consistently for a few years now had the underside of the tip sliced off, when I dropped it just a few days after bringing it home. I immediately knew human error was the cause and that it was a simple accident. If anything, it seems when I touch the broken area, I can feel into the crystal more, which is a positive feeling for me.
The only reservation I would have about continuing to work with it is if the weight distribution of the pendulum is off, which could give inaccurate results.
I encourage you to use your own intuition to determine what you feel is the cause of having dropped your pendulum. What really matters is how you feel, not what I or anyone else tells you about dropping a crystal. If it still feels physically balanced, when it hangs and if the energy still feels good, I say continue working with it! :)
