I am a frequent customer of yours and I have a question about Unakite that I hope you can help me with. I am very drawn to this stone every time I see it. I have been wanting to purchase it many times but have been hesitant because I have read that it promotes weight gain. I DO NOT want to gain weight, in fact I am trying to lose weight. Today, I was at a festival and someone was selling gemstones and again I was instantly drawn to Unakite, so I purchased one stone. The woman who sold it to me has never heard of the weight gain issue with Unakite, but everything I read disagrees with that. I love this stone but do I need to worry about weight gain while using it? Thanks. :)

Thank you for your question. I completely understand your concern. It can be disconcerting to feel so strongly drawn to a stone and to have read that it will have the unwanted and opposite effects on you from those you desire.
Unakite helps balance energies, so you will not automatically starting to gain weight by carrying it or wearing it. A noted crystal book author Judy Hall mentions as one of the aspects of Unakite "It stimulates weight gain when required." So perhaps this is what you came across. However, the "when required" statement means that the body's regulatory system is involved and for those who do not need to gain weight this will not occur just by having this stone.
This stone works great to strengthen the Liver and help with detoxification processes in the body, it enhances the powers of regeneration and speeds up the healing process. It is excellent when someone feels exhausted, as it rebuilds vitality. It helps with overcoming stress and frustration and promotes relaxation.
Each stone has many different properties and if we are drawn to one, that means that the stone can offer us something beneficial on an energetic level. So that should always be your strongest guide, regardless of the written recommendations. Our bodies know what we need on an energetic level and will guide us well.
