I am sorry to hear you are suffering from back pain.
There may be various reasons for the pain, and if you know more specifically what is the cause that may help narrow down the options. Of course, I must present a standard disclaimer that I am not a medical doctor and that crystals can be used to supplement medical procedures and not instead of them. That being said, here is what I'd suggest:
1) if it is tied to the Kidneys -- then use Jade, Prehnite, Larimar, Amber (Honey) Calcite,or Amber
2) If it is from an old injury -- then use Ruby, Red Jasper, Green Zoisite, or Moss Agate
3) to minimize pain in general -- use Hematite and darker Smokey Quartz
You can wear any of the crystals mentioned in #1 and #2 as jewelry as they will direct their energy in such a way as to balance the area/organ where there is pain and put those in #3 at the spot where it hurts. Just make sure not to wear more than two or three at a time, because in some people this may create an energy overload.
