I'll be making orgonite with a lotus mold and one epoxy clear table resin.  Please feel free to advise me if I need a spray to remove the epoxy out of the mold, if you have a preference for types of metal shavings, and hoping some of these crystals will fit nicely into the center of the lotus mold. Also, I do hope the resin I chose was organic. Can you tell if it is?

Dear A,

I spoke with our Organite Expert and I received the following information:

Spray isn't usually needed with silicon molds. Sprays may be needed with metal or glass molds.

Organic resin is hard to find. "Here is a link discussing resins below from a forum that is an overall great resource for all the many orgonite creating questions that will pop up during the process. It truly has a wealth of information from folks all around the globe who have been making the substance for years and years.

This is just one thread i found using the search tool but there are others, some with a little friendlier banter.  : )"

As far a metal goes, our expert has used everything, but does like copper and brass. Whatever you use is a matter of personal preference. "The forum above has a whole section on crystal and metal properties, and i just stumbled upon this blog with a detailed list of metal properties as well:

Hope this helps and her piece turns out beautifully!  Thanks again for you inquiry!  I hope that these recommendations can be of assistance and that crystals grace your journey with love and light.

Crystal Blessings!

I make Orgonite and I have found it best to test all ingredients first. The easiest way to do this is dowsing each item before using it. For the most natural resin, you should use a fiberglass resin. All fiberglass resin I have found has a yellowish tint - it is not available completely clear. Also, I have tested various metals and have found that aluminum and metals containing nickel do not test as well, or even tested negatively. Good luck!  (Submitted by: Stephanie on January 30, 2012)
