Hi! I had given my sister an Apophyllite cluster in the summer of 2012. She has this placed on a table in her living room & on a recent visit I saw that the edges of the cluster were turning black in color. I don't know why this is happening. Help! Thank you!

Hello B,

Thank you for your question.

Crystals change colors for a variety of reasons--sometimes it has to do with air humidity, sometimes with crystal's chemical composition and natural changes that occur due to physical vibrations and resonance--and a lot of times there is nothing that can be done about it. But you can certainly advise your sister to try cleansing the cluster in one of the ways described here and see if it helps. It is best to cleanse crystals at least once a week--and those we wear constantly even more often--, so they remain functioning at their highest potential.

We look forward to hearing from you and please feel free to contact us with any other questions.

I hope that these recommendations can be of assistance and that crystals grace your journey with love and light.

Crystal Blessings!
