Question:
"How do you get 'blue' and 'white' on Lapis Lazuli?"
Answer:
Hi there P,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
Crystals come in various grades, such as: Extra+, Extra, A, B and C Grade.
Extra+ means it is almost gemstone like with it's rich and vibrant colour.
C Grade would be less gemmy, dull color and may have quite a lot of matrix. It's also almost always opaque in lower grades.
Lower grade Lapis Lazuli has more of a blue color and can also have bits of white flecks to it. This is why lower grade Lapis Lazuli can easily be mistaken for Sodalite, especially if there is very little Pyrite flecks to it.
You can research about different crystal grades to get a better idea of how a crystal changes in appearance depending on quality.
I trust this answers your question :)
