Ok, I have crystals I own and ones that are on a wish list. I need to know how to use them. Do I hold them? Do I literally lay down and physically put them on my body's chakra areas? Do I chant over them? If so, what chant? I'm a novice and naive about this. I'm looking to astral project and can't do it. Can you help me?

Hi Kelley,

First, I want to stress that everyone is different, and how they feel most comfortable utilizing their crystals is different. What I have learned is that there really is no one right way or wrong way when it comes to working with crystals (hold them, lay them on the body, etc). Do what you feel is best for you. This is your intuition/higher self guiding you. Do not be dissuaded by others who say there is only one way — there simply is not.

With that being said, let me offer some suggestions and HealingCrystals.com articles that may help to answer your questions.

There are a variety of ways in which you can work with your crystals. Once you receive the crystal, you will want to hold it for a few moments and state your intent (what you want the crystal to assist you with). For example, you could simply say, "I ask that this crystal help me work with the energies to learn how to Astral Travel."

I am a simple girl. I suggest that you begin with one crystal. You can sit still or lay quietly while holding the crystal. Pay attention to the body, how it feels, if you feel any sensations like pin pricks, heat, cold, etc. This is a good way to see how your body and your unique energy connect with the crystal.

You can place the crystal under your pillow or on a nightstand while you sleep. This would be a good idea if you are interested in astral travel.

You can wear the crystal in a pouch around your neck or put it in your pocket to keep with you during the day.

Try several different ways to see which works best for you. I am sure you will find the perfect way to utilize your crystals.

As you begin your work with crystals, you may want to consider writing a journal — what you want to accomplish with the crystals, what you feel when working with the crystals, your progress as you continue the work, etc. This can be a very handy tool to use.
