Question:

"Hi there! I just bought a couple of Galena pieces and I wanted to know if there was a special way that I should care for them when it's time to cleanse them? Can I cleanse them with water and salt like most of my other crystals? Can I charge them under the moonlight? I know it is toxic and you must wash your hands after using it."

Answer:

Hi there,

Thank you so much for contacting Healing Crystals. I have some general recommendations for you about Galena.

Here is a fantastic article
about cleansing and charging your crystals. You can absolutely charge any crystal under the moonlight. Preferably on a full moon (or the day before or after). If your crystal has salt, for example selenite, then I would recommend leaving it indoors but in view of the moonlight. This is because the night time condensation will change the salt.

If your crystal has toxic properties when handling it, then cleansing it without touching it is a good method too! You could do this by smudging it with dried herbs or with sound. For example, play an instrument over the crystal for a couple minutes. Because galena has lead in it, you are wise to wash your hands after handling it. Thus, I recommend any of the cleansing techniques I said before. Playing your crystal pyramid around it would be perfect!
