Hello, I have recently discovered the power of healing crystals. My family and friends think I'm nuts, some have even started playfully calling me a witch. How do you best explain healing crystals to skeptics? I would love to open up their mind and hearts to healing crystals.

Thank you for your inquiry. I am sorry to hear that your family is not open to the energy of crystals. Crystals are a part of this earth and like everything on this earth they have a vibration. Scientists have found ways to harness this energy and that is why Clear Quartz is used in watches. Sapphires and Rubies are used in semi conductive circuits. Minerals are used because they have an energetic signature that can be measured and harnessed. The same way that they can benefit the workings of an electronic computer they can benefit us, because of the computer in our head and our body does have electric magnetic currents that can be measured. MRI's and other tests work because the energy in our body can be detected and observed.
Many people who are sensitive can sense the energy of crystals. Unfortunately not everyone is this sensitive or open and that is why many people don't understand what you feel when you hold a crystal. What you can do is have a family member hold a very high vibrational crystal. Many times they will sense something and then start to wonder. They many not convert to your way of seeing things, but they may become a little bit more tolerant.
On the other hand, if your family is not interested at all in crystals, you may wish to stay more private about them. Use them, but don't talk to your family about stones. Although you may be enthusiastic, not everyone will be and that is okay too. We all have our own paths to follow and they may not be ready for this one yet. Join crystal groups online where you can share your joy in using stones. Go to events where stones are featured and meet more like minded people. Since the internet it is becoming easier to meet people who share our interests.
