Subject: Help with Key Crystals and Record Keeper Crystals

Thanks for this information.  I just get confused with the difference between a key crystal and a record keeper crystal for the 3-sided indentations.  I was told that my crystal is a key crystal although I can not find good description of it.  I am trying to photograph it to attach to this email but it does not show what I intend to show in the picture.

So is a record keeper crystal's triangular shapes only on the surface and does not go beneath the surface?  Can you recommend a book that has a thorough description of these?  I appreciate your taking time to answer my questions.

Blessings,

Edelyn

Hi Edelyn,

A record keeper is a triangular etching on the face or faces of a crystal. It can be raised or etched directly into the face. I have never seen one go INTO a crystal face, but I suppose it is possible?

We do have a nice crystal formation page that may help (it has pictures to reference, etc there is a really good pic of a Record Keeper). It does not contain all the formations, but many of the more popular ones:
https://www.healingcrystals.com/Crystal_Formations_Articles_1035.html

There is not a picture of a Key Crystal listed, but if you would like, I will scan the pic from the book I recommend below and email it to you.

The absolute BEST book that I would recommend on crystal formations is called The Buyer's Guide by LS Hersh. She has been in the crystal biz a long time. Her book gives (in my opinion) THE most accurate and detailed explanations/photographs of all types of formations (the real ones, not the ones folks have made up along the way). You can purchase Lin's book at http://montgomerycrystalco.com/

(Just click the link that says Books, Kits, Illuminators, etc. Tell her Kristi sent ya :)

With love and crystal blessings,

Kristi
