Question:

"Hi, I have a huge Citrine quartz at home that weights about 80 lbs or more. As I took it outside to clean, the quartz broke in half. My question is: should I clean it completely and bring it inside my home, or I should NOT bring it inside my house? I have the stone already for a month in my garden, receiving sun, rain, and everything that mother nature cleanses with!

I have mixed suggestions as to what to do: some say, clean it, and others say forget it! It is a beautiful stone and very big. Please guide me in the right direction."

Answer:

Hi M,

Oh wow!! I would LOVE to see a picture of that beauty!! How awesome!

There are a number of reasons why quartz crystals can break. An extreme fluctuation in temperature, sometimes there is moisture in a fracture that drys up causing it to split or it could just be a fracture within the crystal that expands and eventually makes a clean break, etc. I have always personally felt that when a crystal breaks or splits it is a gift :) It is giving us two pieces--either one to keep and one to share, one to put in a healing room or sacred space and one to put in another area of the home, or maybe one to place in the house and one to place in the garden. It sounds to me like it has had an ample cleaning being out in the sun, rain, etc. and the energy is not compromised in any way, so my suggestion would be to continue using it as you intended.

With love and crystal blessings.
