When I first became interested in crystals I wanted to carry them all with me everywhere. As my collection expanded, I began leaving some of my crystal friends at home and thus learned the wonderful benefits of using crystal energy in my space. My crystals are now an integral part of keeping the energy of my home balanced and saturated with good energy. Crystal grids are a great way to use crystals to energize and protect your home.
When working with crystal grids, always clear the crystals you are going to use first. Set the crystals in the arrangement of your choice and then activate the grid by tracing it with a point and focusing on your intention. This pointed object can either be a natural long crystal point, a wand, or even a pointed finger. While tracing the grid, focus on the purpose of the grid, connect all the crystals and always end on the same crystal that you started. If a wall or other immovable object is in the way of one of the lines of the grid, simply follow the line up the wall, visualize the line continuing through the wall, and then continue the line with your point/wand on the other side of the wall. Try to set the crystals where they are the least likely to be disturbed but still in the pattern of your grid. All grids should be taken down periodically to clear and charge the crystals. When the crystals are ready, reset the grid with the cleared crystals and reactivate the crystal grid to reinforce the intention.
The most basic way to grid a room or space is by using four crystals. Place one crystal in each of the four corners of the room. Clear Quartz points work great for this. Next, activate the grid by connecting the four crystals together by using a wand to trace the rectangular shape. Remember to hold the intention of your grid while you are activating it. An area can also be gridded with other shapes, such as a triangle, a five pointed star, a Star of David (six pointed star), a circle, the four cardinal directions (North, East, South, West), a hexagon, or another shape of your choosing. Depending on the grid shape used and the intention of the grid, you will need to adjust the number and type of crystals used. Clear Quartz is a general healing crystal that easily holds a program and is a good choice for a grid of any purpose.
Here are some crystal suggestions to get you started on gridding your home:
Protection from negative energies: Black Obsidian or Black Tourmaline work great for a protection grid. A five pointed star pattern is good to use for this purpose.
Blocking geopathic stress: Smokey Quartz, Brown Jasper or Brown Aventurine can help with the negative effects of geopathic stress.
Protection from EMFs and electromagnetic stress: Black Tourmaline in the four corners of a room will help to clear the area.
Bringing in more positive energy: Citrine, Sunstone or Ruby crystals in a triangle grid layout are perfect for accomplishing this.
Prosperity and abundance: Citrine, Herkimer Diamonds, Pyrite, Imperial Topaz, Emerald or Green Aventurine are all great choices for this type of grid.
Restful night: Grid the bedroom with Amethyst, Selenite and Clear Quartz points with the points directed toward the center. You can also grid the bed by placing the crystals in the four corners.
Balance and harmony: Try using Rose Quartz, Green Aventurine and Calcite in this type of grid to create a peaceful and balanced environment.
Another way to set up a grid for your whole house is to use a small crystal grid set with your intention for your home. Choose a crystal for the center of the grid and several crystals to place in a pattern radiating out from the center. Clear Quartz Points are great to put around a central crystal that resonates with your intention. If you are setting up a protection grid, try to use crystals that are protective such as Black Tourmaline, Black Obsidian, Black Onyx, Labradorite or Amethyst. For prosperity and abundance, be sure to include crystals like Citrine, Pyrite, Herkimer Diamonds, Green Aventurine or Imperial Topaz. While setting up the grid, hold the intention in your heart and mind and visualize your home in your mind while you do. It also helps to place a photo of the house or write the address on a piece of paper and place it under the central crystal of your grid. Be sure to place the grid in an area that is less likely to be disturbed. A small crystal grid also needs to be cleared, charged and reactivated periodically, so don’t forget your grids when you are clearing the rest of the crystals around your home.
Setting up a grid in your space is a wonderful idea for the crystals that are left at home and not carried with you daily. It’s also a great way to enjoy the energy of those fragile crystals that wouldn’t hold up too well inside your pocket. Try using different crystals around your area to see which ones you prefer and let your intuition guide you to try new combinations as your needs evolve. Be sure to energize all of the rooms in your home with crystal grids including the bedroom, living room, children’s rooms, office and entertainment room. Enjoy filling your space with crystal energy! :-)
