Does the crystal Obsidian shield us against black magic?

Thank you for your question about Black Obsidianand it's protective qualities. It is my personal favorite for protection against negative energies. Black Tourmalineis also for effective protection and I believe that often the best defense is a good offense. So you might want to try a Clear Quartzor an Optical Calcite and infuse it with the intention that any negative energy that comes towards you be transformed and sent right back to where it came from. I've recently started wearing a Tourmalated Quartz to give me a mix of defense and offense.

 It goes without saying that black obsidian likes to collect negative energy, and while that can seem good at first, but with closer inspection it's easy to realize that it doesn't hold on to the negative energy very well. Further more, I've found that two pieces of obsidian often have a strong connection with each other, strong enough that you can send energy though one piece and have it come out the other. this leaves a possible opening to attack, as an attacker can fill their's with negative energy and have it transfer to your's.So if you are expecting attack and your only companion shield is obsidian make sure you cleanse it quite often.
