Does the salt lamp have to be turned on to clear ions? I just have mine sitting in my treatment room. How do you clean a salt lamp?

Thanks for your inquiry. The salt lamp will emit some negative ions just sitting there, but not nearly as many as if it was turned on. Negative ions can be used for clearing. Turning on the lamp will also reduce any moisture that can form on the surface sometimes. A salt lamp should never be intentionally gotten wet or washed with water. To clean off any dust, very lightly brush the surface with a cloth. I hope you enjoy working with your salt lamp. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
