Question:

"Does Amethyst need clearing? What about tumbled stones? And how often should I clear my crystals?"

Answer:

Hi Brenda,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

When it comes to clearing crystals, this is what I recommend:

  • Clearing after purchasing when they come home to or with you.
  • Clearing before use if you haven't used the crystal/s in a long time.
  • Clearing after use especially if you had quite a hectic session with the crystal either in meditation, a healing session or after a day of carrying with you.

There are various methods for cleansing or clearing your Amethyst or tumbled crystals, but the most important part is your *intention* which should always be to clear the crystal of energetic debris that isn't for the highest good of all beings including yourself.

The various methods include: smudging, singing bowl, water (best for tumbled crystals), prayer, breath, moonlight, sunlight (use with caution as it can fade some crystals), salt (use with caution as it's a very harsh method of cleansing/clearing), rice and more.

There really is no right or wrong way to clear your crystals. Whatever method works for you is what you can use to clear your crystals.

You can read more in-depth about this here -> How to Clean Crystals

I hope this helps clears things up a bit.
