Q: I am very left handed, however, when the Reiki energy is flowing, I feel it the most in my right hand. The energy has even begun to flow spontaneously in the presence of someone in need of healing energy and when this happens my right hand is the one that really feels the energy to the point of tingling and getting verrrry hot. My left hand also feels the energy but it is a more gentle sort of energy. I am curious about this because being left handed I am right brain dominant and this reaction seems to counter that. I tend to let my instincts guide me but I am curious about this.

Here is my take on dominate hand theory. As you know we are predisposed from birth to use either our right or left hand. Some of us,about 8 -15% of the worlds population, me included, are left handed. Studies have found that many left handed people can actually use both hands and both sides of the brain equally. Left handed people tend to develope more complex language skills earlier. One study showed that left handed people on average has a different brain structure then a right handed person. In other words in my honest opinion, we use more of our brains.
Many ancient cultures, like the Incas considered left-handed people to be born as more spiritual or holy. They have more magic and more healing abilities then right handed people. I like this one. I find that I can use both hands for everything. The same goes for healing energy. I can use either hand equally. Those who practice pranic healing believe that your dominate hand is not as sensitive to energy. If this is the case, those who are strictly left handed would be able to feel the energy flow strongest is the right hand. Those who practice acording to the meridians believe that you have more acupuncture points in the right hand then the left and that you have more energy in the right.
I myself can feel the energy in both hands equally. I believe I send equally with both. It may all have to due with how dominate your left or right hand is. In otherwords How dominate is your left or right side of your brain. Which side is more active. Who knows at this point as there are no studies to prove either case. Trust your intuition on this one, your guess is as good as the next persons guess.

 I have struggled with the same question ever since was a teenager and noticed i could feel energies and feel energies flow from my hands! But my non dominant hand (the right) was always more sensitive and it confused me forever because you hear bout using crystals with your dominant hand but i was always backwards.
